Today was another good run day. I increased my running interval to 3 minutes and stuck with the 3 minute walking interval. This seems to be a good ratio for the time being. I may increase it a little more next week but I will need to see how it feels. I was out for 90 minutes this morning and covered just over 7 miles. That is a good indicator for Lake Placid that I should be able to finish the run in a reasonable amount of time even if I have to do more walking than I am anticipating.
I had a PT session today that was much needed. I am now only going once a week and by the time my appointment rolls around I an in need of some ART and soft tissue work. Dr. Karyn has suggested that I do some of my running on grass or on the track to take some of the strain off my knee. She also thinks that if I work up to 15 miles that will be enough to prepare me for IMLP.
I will be changing up my training schedule a little bit. I had planned to do some open water swims in Lake Peachtree, but a buddy of mine got in the water last weekend and said that it was really dirty, full of debris from all the rain, and he came out with 5 leaches stuck to him. I am pretty confident in my open water abilities after my swim in Lake Wedowee that I think I will forgo the blood suckers and stay in the pool for a few more weeks.
Today I also did some core work and upper body work:
Core 14x25
Upper Body
Pull ups - 4x20
Push ups - 4x25
