May 18th - Almost beat the rain...almost

Today was Kelly's race in PTC.  The weather didn't really cooperate and when we woke up at 4:45am it was raining with thunder and lightning.  Ultimately they canceled the swim leg, but the bike and run went off as scheduled making it a duathlon.  Of course I was out there supporting Kel and taking pictures in the rain...any and all nominations for husband of the year will be appreciated.  She had a great race and finished 4th in her age group.  She averaged 18.8mph on the bike in the rain and ran 7:57 miles on the 10k run.

For a while it looked like the weather was going to force me inside to ride the trainer for almost 2 hours.  The weather did clear a bit in the afternoon so I decided to do my ride outside.  I got sprinkled on a little bit at various times but nothing major.  I ended up riding for an hour and 45 minutes and covered 32 miles.  The ride itself felt great and I had no complaints from my knee.  Even my butt is getting used to more time in the saddle.  I was less than a mile from home when the sky became angry and my fortune ran out.  The bottom fell out and I got soaked on the last mile.  Of course, a few minutes after I made it back to the house the rain stopped.  Oh well.

I slacked a little on my PT work today.  I wasn't able to do my first round of exercises until we got back from Kelly's race and I didn't want to do a second round just for the sake of doing them.  Also, I decided to take a nap instead.  Recovery is important.

I did do a core workout before my ride:
Core - 14x25

Weigh in:
Weight - 157lbs (about the same as 2 weeks ago)
Body Fat - 17.7% (up bit from 2 weeks ago)
