May 25th - One Brick At a Time

My knee continues to feel great and I have to suppress every urge to see how it feels to run.  I have about a week and a half before I go see the surgeon again and I am hoping he will give me the go ahead to work some running back in to my workouts.  I know that when I do run it will only be for a short time, but I have to start somewhere.

I was still feeling a little sick today, and I woke up with a pretty bad headache.  I didn't want to let it ruin my training day so I decided to at least start the workout and see what happened.  Usually when I workout with a headache, it goes away pretty quickly after I get started.  It took longer than I thought it would but this was the case today.  Kelly and I ended up having a really good 32 mile ride today in about an hour and 50 minutes.  We followed that up with and immediate 60 minute walk.  That would have to be my brick workout until I can run again. 

Tomorrow starts a recovery week , which I really do need.  I had to miss a few workouts this week because I wasn't feeling well and I think the recovery week will help me kick this cold or allergy crap for good.
