Today is Memorial Day so we had the day off work. This is also the start of a recovery week for me as well. After sleeping in a little later than planned, I made it to the pool at around 9am. Thankfully I was able to get a lane and I did a 1200 yard swim at a pretty good pace. I also made sure to do some of the PT work in the pool too.
The second workout for today was a scheduled easy hour long ride. Kelly and I went a little bit longer than that and covered 20 miles. I think we pushed a little past easy on this ride because we averaged about 17mph. I noticed that my legs felt a little tired at the beginning of the ride but they seemed to perk up as we went on. My knee is a bit sore today, but I think that is from the brick workout yesterday. I have PT tomorrow with Tina because Dr. Karyn is out of town on a cruise so I will see if she can do some soft tissue work and see how it feels.
I am looking forward to this last week of post-planning and I am ready to get my PT sessions out of the way in the morning so I can focus on lengthening and completing my workouts and still have time to enjoy the days. As soon as post-planning is over my ride distances will increase and I will hopefully be able to work some running into my Ironman preparation.
