May 20th - Progress Progress

Today was another good day.  I had minimal pain all day and a great swim this morning.  I had 1800 yards on my plan, but I finished faster than usual so I did an extra 200 yards with the kickboard along with my pool exercises.   I still have a long way to go to feel like I'm ready for Lake Placid but the only reason I had to stop swimming this morning is because I ran out of time.  I should have some more time in the mornings next week because I won't have to be at school for post-planning until 8am.  I'm also really looking forward to having the summer off this year to really focus on training and two-a-day workouts.  I'll be logging some much longer rides as well.

Dr. Karyn is really happy with my progress and came back from her conference with a couple new exercises and techniques to try on me.  She also helped me with my core work by tweaking my position on the floor to better isolate the core.  I did a core workout when I got home and the difference was pretty amazing.  I actually had to rest midway through a couple of my sets.

I will do another swim tomorrow morning and I will try to work in a walk during planning.  There is a county wide middle school coaches banquet that I am going to tomorrow evening so I will need to make sure that I get in whatever I can during the day.

Here's the core workout for today:
Core - 13x25
