Last night I started to put together my formal plan for Lake Placid. Of course it's been raining all day today do I have already had to modify it a bit. The plan for today was to ride for 75 minutes and walk for 70 minutes. Because of the crappy weather, I let myself sleep in before our Saturday session of grade repair.
After grade repair Kelly and I rode 90 minutes on the trainer. I increased the time because I was pretty sure that I wouldn't be walking today. That was the longest ride that I have done since the surgery and my knee held up very well. I did feel some slight discomfort but it subsided after a little while. My left knee actually bothered me more than my right today. I talked to the bike fit specialist at the local Trek store yesterday and I will be setting up an appointment to finally be properly fitted to my bike soon. I want to make sure that I am as comfortable as possible and that I set myself up well for the run. I am also considering buying a new seat for my bike. I have a pretty high end seat that came with the bike but it is getting worn and the padding in the nose has shifted. I have noticed that I am getting some increased in my sit bones at the end of longer rides. I will talk to the fit specialist to see what he recommends and if he thinks it is necessary. I got some money for my birthday as well as some gift cards so I plan on using it for new gear for Lake Placid and Florida. I'm hoping to get a new tri shirt and shorts...the stuff I have is showing some pretty good wear and tear.
Since today's trainer ride went so well with the increased time, I am going to modify my plan for May as well as work on my plan for June. June and July will be tricky to figure out at this point because I don't know yet how much I will be able to run or how I will have to plan my run/walk intervals.
I also did a core workout today that was supposed to be on the schedule for tomorrow:
Core - 16x25
I also remembered to weigh in this morning too:
Weight - 156lb (down 1lb)
Body Fat - 17% (no change)
